Ready Has Very Good Advance At MultiplexesPosted: June 2, 2011
Ready has taken a very good advance at multiplexes which opened in full yesterday (Wednesday). Due to the amount of shows at multiplexes, very few films take any sort of advance at the box office. Infact before Ready, it was only Dabangg and Tees Maar Khan in the last 12 months.
If we compare with Dabangg, it is lower as Dabangg had sold around 20% tickets for the weekend prior to releases while Ready is looking at nearly 15%. But as Ready has a bigger release with more shows, the amount of tickets sold is nearly the same. The multiplex release is on par with Kites which probably had the biggest multiplex release ever while single screens it is the biggest ever.
It is going to be a very interesting weekend at the box office and with good appreciation the Dabangg weekend record can be beaten although a more realistic total would be around 42-43 crore nett.
As far as lifetime business is concerned, the first target will be to become the highest non holiday nett grosser which till date is Raajneeti at 93 crore nett.
The worldwide theatrical rights were sold for 55 crore to the Wave Cinemas group and they have recouped around 37 crore selling everything apart from Mumbai city, Delhi/UP and East Punjab.
